Timeline

  • ~PH 110,000 – Feywild Traverse

    • The Feywild briefly aligns with what will become the world of Cetaegia within the Prime Material Plane. Elves, Fairies, and other creatures are left on this planet when the doors between the planes close.

  • ~PH 95,000 Trisnalan Empire Reigns in the south

    • The magnificent Elven City of Trisnala in the Duntree peninsula is a bustling metropolis, extending its reach over the whole peninsula.

  • ~PH 75,000 – The first travelers from Teldar land on Kavear and Cet

    • Bestial Kingdoms, Dragons and other chaotic groups dominate what little “consolidated power” there is outside of Trisnala, most of the continent is untamed wild.
    • Teldar-men settle small areas along the western coast, but no sizable societies form, and soon they are scattered among the world, to be shaped by the lands they live in.

  • ~PH 70,000 – The Trisnalan Distruption

    • Some catastrophe wreaks havoc on the Elves of Duntree, called the "Olephar" in what few records remain. The once powerful empire collapses.

  • ~PH 50,000 – Proto-races descended from Teldar-men begin to appear

    • Hunter-gather groups of ancestors of the Guilded Races appear, as well as proto-orcs, goblins, and other humanoid races.

  • ~PH 4,250 – The First Kingdom

    • Dwarves begin the first non-elf society within the Banel Mountains, beginning this age of civilization on Cet.
    • Called the Palisae, they live within the mountains and valleys in the center on the continent.

  • ~PH 3,750 – Spread and Settling

    • The Drearor, Valtaar and Gorend Dwarven Kingdoms propagate, settling areas in the northeast, east and south, respectively.
    • Halfling nomads of the north begin building settlements in the Khala Desert.

  • ~PH 3,500 – The Second Kingdom

    • Halflings in The Khala Desert begin contact with the Palisae Kingdom.
    • Savage elves in the Duntree Peninsula make first contact with the Gorend, in the forms of skirmishes and raids.

  • ~PH  3,250 – War on the Duntree

    • An ancient Green Dragon uses his power and thralls to force the savage elves further and further west in the duntree, slaughtering thousands in the process.
    • A conglomerate of those elf tribes invade the dwarves in the Skull of Duntree, eventually forcing the Gorend's retreat from the Skull of Duntree. The elves begin to live in the deserted dwarven underground cities.

  • ~PH 3,150 Meeting of the Minds

    • A peaceful elf nation, the Jin'dal is contacted by the Valtaar dwarves in the Geytha Canyons. A penchant for metalworking and song forms a strong bond between the groups.

  • ~PH 3,000 – The Third and Fourth  Kingdoms

    • The first human society takes shape in the southern islands of Cet, calling themselves the Men of Kavear, and thus naming the islands as such too.
    • Gnomes are contacted in the far north, locked in continual conflict with a kingdom of the Grey Races (Goblins, Orcs, Hobgoblins, Ogres, Goliaths, and others) known as Bevshtela.

  • ~PH 2,900 – The Reclamation War

    • The exiled Gorend dwarves, with help from the Palisae, Valtaar, and Jin'dal, march on the Skull of Duntree Mountains and retake the lost lands of the Gorend people.
    • Most of the Savage Elves, rather than return to the inhospitable Duntree Jungle, go further under ground, into the Underdark.

  • ~PH 2,750 – The War for the North

    • An alliance of Gnomes, Dwarves and Halflings March on Bevshtela in response to their war driven expansion.
    • Defeated, the Grey Races scatter, their kingdom lost. Many tribes of orcs surrender out of honor and become slaves to Dwarves.
    • This merging of more educated society with a more primal group opens the door to study the magic of druids and shamans, beginning the first steps toward Acrane Magic.

  • ~PH 2,600 – Gnomish Exploration

    • With their penchant for invention, the now free Gnomish people set out to settle a land for their own, pioneering new, safer and faster overland travel, cartography and navigating.
    • Reaching the eastern ocean, they found their nation north of the Geytha canyons, known as Roatha.

  • PH 2,340 – Gremdel founded

    • The halfling and dwarven city of Gremdel is settled, carved into the Pillars of Douv, becoming an important trading post and melting pot of halfling nomads, dwarven traders and gnomish explorers, and the largest orc slave market.

  • ~PH 2,200 – Gnome Ship Building

    • Instead of simple shore fishing and river ships, a Roatha Preeminent proclaims a goal to sail the open ocean.
    • Building the first seafaring ships, they begin to map the eastern coast. Finding nothing on their tentative journeys eastward, dangerous creatures and minimal reward stifle the oceanic effort for years.

  • PH 2,163 – The Frostscorn

    • For almost 10 years horrific cold swept through the northern 1/3 of the continent, killing almost all living things at all sensible to cold that could not escape its wrath.
    • This decimation leaves the surviving creatures (such as Frost Giants, Remorhaz's, even White Dragons) without prey for food, and they migrate south, wreaking havoc on the halfling, dwarf  and orc nomads, cities and tribes of the north.
    • 5 years into the Frostscorn, the city Girvalda is built as an enclave against the encroaching predators of the north.

  • ~PH 2,150 – Human tribes contacted

    • Yaltella Halflings, leaving the chaotic central north, cross into the savannah lands southwest of Khala.
    • Sparsely dispersed but numerous tribes and groups of primitive humans are encountered.

  • ~PH 2,120 – Respite Sea

    • The retreating glaciers that formed during the Frostscorn build up a massive lake in what is modern day Dakara. The return of cold-climate creatures to their northern habitats allows for settlement along a large freshwater source in a previously barren land.

  • PH 2,096 – Magnisortium of Hilltod

    • An Arcane college begins in Hilltod, the Gnomish city on the west coast of Cetaegia.
    • A mysterious albino elf leads the college and is considered the preeminent mage of the era.

  • ~PH 2,030 - Kavear Sailing

    • Almost 200 years later than the gnomes, but with much more success, the Men of Kavear begin sailing outside the bounds of their islands, reaching the southern shores of Cet.
    • The infighting between the islands lessens as a new world is discovered. Instead of enslaving each other, they now set their shackles upon the men of southern Cet.

  • PH 1,975 - Stone Elf Invasion

    • Having been forced into the Underdark, the once savage jungle elves reemerge as the stone elves and begin a war against the Palisae dwarves.
    • A gnomish trade ship, lost at sea, accidently discovers Aldrea. A primal and wild island, they spread word of its existence and danger.

  • PH 1954 – The Awakened Depths

    • The Palisae dwarves, locked in a grueling war with the stone elves, dig deeper and deeper into the earth in search of more and new resources to fight with. Something within the depths was awakened by their digging.
    • Within the span of months, every dwarven city in the central Banel mountains was lost, with hundreds of thousands dead. The stone elves were decimated as well.
    • The Awakened not only killed most of the populations on either side of the war, but corrupted many survivors. The Duergar and the Drow are born into the world, twisted remnants of the Palisae and Stone Elves

  • PH 1920 – Gremdel Spire

    • Seeking the prestige that the Magnisortium brought its city, Gremdel begins its own arcane college.
    • Without the ancient knowledge of a true elf mage, progress in the arcane arts is much more volatile at Gremdel Spire.

  • ~PH 1850  - Spanning Road

    • Trade between the south and east on the continent finds a steady route through wilderness, and Spanning Road is constructed, linking the cultures of the men in the south with the dwarves and gnomes in the east.

  • PH 1825 – Flood of Spite

    • A super volcano erupts on the southern shore of the Respite Sea, opening a causeway for the entire body to drain into the Khala.
    • The water carves massive canyons into the sandstone bedrock and settles in what is now Improsa lake.
    • The catastrophe not only destroyed everything for hundreds of miles, but the open wound to the molten crust of the planet turned what was previously a bountiful land to the most inhospitable.

  • PH 1794 – Geytha Drow War

    • The Drow, festering in the Underdark for a century and a half, strike against the Valtarr dwarves at their capital city, Petala, carved into the southern-most grand canyon of the east.
    • The war lasts only a few months, with the jungle hardened Jin'dal Elves coming to defense of their allies, and their mighty druid leader O'kama Garll leading the successful defense of the city.

  • PH 1780 – Gilarar Rises

    • A massive black dragon named GIlarar arises our of Mount Kav'ra, finding his once sparsely populated lands settled by men from Kavear.
    • Enraged by this, he sets upon a war path, drenching two major cities, Eagleroot and Coreetha in its acid breath.
    • The slaver colonies of the western coast raise an army, but are no match for the beast. Satisfied with the destruction of the cities and an army, Gilarar returns to its liar and slumbers again.

  • PH 1754 - Udaree Rebellion

    • Orc slaves in the lands of Gremdel, Citarar and Moshree rise up against their masters, disrupting the entire economy of the region and beginning a quasi-civil war, with free citizens as well as slaves fighting for their freedom
    • The war lasts for 4 years, with the rebelling orcs winning their freedom. Lack of skilled and unskilled laborers ironically depleted the salvers ability to wage war.
    • While many orcs attempt to make peace and integrate into the society that previously enslaved them, a large portion found Udaree, a city in the hills of the Kamilara Region, becoming its own autonomous state.

  • PH 1720 – Benevolent Magistrate Blokart

    • Blokart Featherpen, a dwarven wizard, becomes elected head of state of Gremdel. Once the leader of the Gremdel's College of Arcanistry, his successful and peaceful rule brings a new respect to arcane mages throughout the north.
    • He bridges the broken relationship with the freed orcish population of Gremdel: accepting orcs into the College of Arcanistry; letting them join the Gremdel Guard; and promoting orcs to join trade guilds. These policies allow Gremdalish society to flourish into a golden age.

  • PH 1670-1665 - Kavear Conflict

    • 3 major islands of Kavear set against each other over border and trade disputes on the mainland. The nations of Jothor, Mehrar and Thiltal lose the ability to govern their colonies due to the war at home, and those colonies succeed and form Amarit.
    • Amartit, without the need to send off its wealth and resources to colonial masters, becomes a powerful nation and expands its reaches throughout the southwest of Cet, with the help of its enslaved people's labor and lives.

  • PH 1620 – Elidalia Emissiary

    • An elven ship from the unexplored penisula east of Roatha lands in Roatha, bringing the Elidalian Sovereign into the worlds stage.
    • Generally reclusive, very few people get permission to visit the elven nation, but those who do speak of a unique culture, set into nature and magic like no other known place.

  • ~PH 1590 – Udaree Invaded

    • Nomadic orcs besiege Udaree, claiming the God Bahgtru appeared and exhorted them to invade their more civilized kin, and that the cost of failure would be abandonment by the gods.
    • The city prevailed over its assailants, and empowered by the blessing of the God Tempus.
    • The tribes that failed to take the city were indeed abandoned by their deities, and faced hardship wherever they roamed. Eventually they would settle into the wastes of Dakara.

  • PH 1563 – Corragath

    • The city of Corragath is established on the four forks of the east end of Spanning Road. A center for banking, trade and culture as a major crossroads of north, south and east,  it remains a free sovereign city, taking none of the lands surrounding it and stating in its founding document, "The Statement of Freedom and Peace in Corragath" that it shall owe no allegiance to any entity outsides its borders.
